I have decided that from today, I will be sharing new posts once a week, and I’ll explain my reasons for it.
As I have previously mentioned, I have always loved writing, but I barely ever stick with it or finish anything because, in the past, I thought I wanted to be an author and write epic tales and psychological horror, but it turns out I just wasn’t cut out for this.
I accepted that a long time ago but never thought about just writing my thoughts and sharing them and since I have started this again, I have found a new passion for writing and already have a few posts ready to be shared.
I can often be impatient and say that I will share something on a certain day, then later that same evening It’s out there, but the thing I am realising is that, if I want to keep my passion for writing, then I need to stop thinking of it like a job where I need to meet a deadline and instead treat it as a pastime so when I have the energy to write something I will but by not sharing too often, I don’t have to feel pressure to write something even when I can’t and force something out that I won’t even enjoy and most likely end up deleting.
The reason why I had given up on so many hobbies in the past was that I would jump into it and feel like I had to do as much as possible constantly so I would burn out to the point where I could never try it again in the future.
Writing is the one thing that I always come back to and now that I have finally realised the missing part of the puzzle to want to keep it going is to be patient, write when you want to and have the motivation, though share less frequently.
A lot of people will say the same about having hobbies they love at the start, then giving up on this may also apply to you. If you’re doing it for fun, then don’t treat it like work, but something you do when you have the energy as an escape, like reading a book, playing a game or watching a film, for example.
Anyway, with that, tune in next week.
